Air Products Announces Expansion of Production Facility in Carlsbad, California

Air Products has expanded its California-based electronic materials development and manufacturing facility, Carlsbad. Latest materials produced in the facility will allow the development of advanced consumer electronic products such as tablet PCs and smartphones.

The expansion of the facility includes enhancement of laboratory facilities to support the production scale of new products and construction of analytical labs to analyze and test the performance of new materials. In addition, latest equipment will be installed in Carlsbad applications lab for process demonstration and product development.

Air Products’ investment helped in launching new products for deposition of altered silicon oxide and nitride films in a wide range of deposition processes, including Plasma Enhanced Atomic Layer Deposition (PEALD), Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD).

Air Products has also extended the commercial-scale manufacturing capabilities in Carlsbad to support the strong growth of PDEMS products among microprocessors and other logic products manufacturers.
