Air Products has declared that it has made a contract with JGC to provide its innovative MCR main heat exchanger and propane pre-cooled mixed refrigerant method for the Donggi-Senoro LNG project in Luwuk, Indonesia.
The two-million-ton-per-annum project is likely to commence by 2014. It is a joint venture between Pertamina, an oil and gas firm owned by Indonesia state, and Mitsubishi, PT Medco Energi Internasional and Korea Gas.
According to Bill Merlini, LNG Indonesia Director at Air Products, the company has a long history in supporting LNG projects in Indonesia. He expressed his pleasure in continuing to develop their expertise and reputation in the region. He mentioned that the Donggi-Senoro LNG is a vital project for the LNG segment in Indonesia and will serve as a major source of LNG to East Asia and Japan.
The gas fields situated in the Matindok Area and the Senoro-Toili Block will be utilized by the Donggi-Senoro facility as feed gas. This is the fourth LNG project in Indonesia. The LNG technology of Air Products has been employed in all four projects including PT Badak, PT Arun and Tangguh LNG. PT Arun and PT Badak commenced operations in the late 1970s, while Tangguh LNG was effective from 2009.
A greater part of the global LNG is manufactured using Air Products’ LNG technology.
