A new automotive center has been opened by DuPont in Shanghai, China. The center facilitates combined design and application program development services to the Chinese automotive sector.
DuPont Automotive Center includes three laboratories that focus on prototype development, material advancement, and reliability and performance testing of automotive parts. A design center is also included in the facility.
Tony Su, DuPont Greater China’s President, said that the new center offers its customers a platform to access the company’s capabilities and also helps to meet the growth opportunities and challenges in the automotive market.
DuPont Automotive Center will develop innovative solutions to deliver safe, comfortable and high fuel efficient vehicles to the market.
Dupont’s new center includes modern facilities and software to enable optimized auto part and mold design. Three-dimensional laser scanning service allows non-contact procedure for delivering precise measurement of molded parts. Molding trial and process analysis to minimize cycle time will be carried out in the center’s processing laboratories. The testing labs are used to perform stone impact and noise vibration control tests. These services enhance the company’s capability to provide innovative solutions to address the automotive market requirements.
