CO2 Laser Optics to Cut and Engrave Plastics

Laser Research Optics, a division of Meller Optics and manufacturer of rigid crystalline materials such as sapphire and ruby, has announced the launch of CO2 laser mirrors and lenses for low power lasers utilized to cut and engrave plastics.

CO2 Optics

The direct field-replacement CO2 mirrors and lenses comply with OEM and ISO-10110 standards for optical elements. They are designed for application at 10.6 µm. The lenses and mirrors are suitable for low power lasers, including Universal, Synrad, Epilog, Coherent, Cincinnati and other lasers. These materials function similar to the originals.

The CO2 laser mirrors used for cutting and engraving plastics are made from molybdenum, copper and silicon to resist unclean environments. These mirrors are available in thickness range of ½" to 10". The CO2 laser lenses are applied with dual-band coatings and are available with focal lengths ranging from 1" to 12". The size of the lenses varies from ½" to 1" outside diameter.
