Showa Denko Carbon Awards Graphite Manufacturing Plant Expansion Project to Fluor

Showa Denko Carbon, a company that operates a completely integrated graphite production plant in Ridgeville, South Carolina, has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract to Fluor, a building company headquartered in Irving, Texas.

Under the terms of the contract, Fluor will extend Showa Denko Carbon’s South Carolina-based graphite production plant, which manufactures graphite material and delivers it to the automotive and steel supplier sectors. The production plant produces high-quality graphite electrodes for manufacture of electric arc furnace steel. The facility expansion will enable Showa Denko Carbon to meet the growing demand for graphite products.

The expansion of Showa Denko Carbon’s plant provides a great opportunity for Fluor to bring its expertise into the project. Fluor will provide engineering, procurement and construction services from its Greenville office.
