Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Redesigns Laboratory Carboys

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has upgraded the Bio-Simplex carboys using high quality polypropylene materials.

The company has added a wide range of ergonomic characteristics to the standard laboratory carboy and redesigned it to enhance solution storage and fluid handling applications in advanced biopharmaceutical environment.

The enhanced design features of the carboys include large and easily-read graduation marks; material and volume identification marks; wide mouth for easy cleaning and filling; huge top handle for safe handling; and slender body design, which reduces storage space.

Bio-Simplex carboys can withstand temperatures to a maximum of 275°F. They are also resistant to chemicals. The advanced carboys are offered in four sizes such as 40L, 20L, 10L and 5L.

The carboys are designed with EZ Top closure technology, which increases the versatility of the products. This technology is used as an alternative to stainless steel. The EZ Top assemblies address contamination issue caused by frequent usage. They eliminate labor and costs connected with assembly, validation and cleaning, thus making them more economical.

The assemblies are available in Sani-Tech Class VI platinum-cured silicone and C-Flex thermoplastic elastomer materials. These two materials offer an aseptic seal to handle sensitive fluids as well as very low levels of extractables. The EZ Top assemblies are available in two-port and three-port configurations.
