Rex-Cut Products announced that it has started manufacturing a complete line of Type 1 Abrasive Wheels that feature cotton-fiber materials.
The Type 1 abrasive wheels are developed using several layers of cotton-fiber along with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasives. These materials are bonded, pressed and laminated to produce a solid wheel, which continuously releases fresh abrasives during the grinding process.
These abrasive wheels are used for polishing, deburring and grinding and last about 10 times longer than competitive unitized wheels. Wheels, which are GFX bonded with cotton-fiber 120, 80 and 54 grits, grind faster than 8 or 9 density fine, medium or coarse unitized wheels. The cotton-fiber abrasive wheels also offer the same finish as the unitized wheels.
Rex-Cut Type 1 Abrasive Wheels are available in four different forms with hard or soft bonds. These include coarse, medium, fine and very fine grits. They are ideal for use on Inconel, titanium, stainless steel, steel, aluminum and other exotics. The Type 1 wheels have various applications, which include field service repairs, oil field pipe thread grinding and aircraft production.
