Praxair China to Deliver Oxy-Fuel Technology for Shandong Guangfu Group

Praxair (China) Investment, one of China’s leading industrial gas providers headquartered in Shanghai, announced that it has entered into an agreement with Shandong Guangfu Group, an iron and steel company, to supply combustion technology. Praxair will install its proprietary oxy-fuel technology in Shandong’s steel mill.

Under the terms of the agreement, Praxair will install a gas injection system comprising three oxygen gas injectors and associated technologies at the 100-ton electric arc furnace of Shandong Guangfu Group’s steel facility.

The oxy-fuel technology offers a number benefits to Praxair’s clients in non-ferrous metal and steel industries It increases productivity, saves cost, offers environmental protection and enhances operational safety when compared to conventional lance systems.

Praxair China’s President, Dr. Minda Ho noted that the implementation of the combustion technology is expected to increase rapidly in China in the upcoming years. The technology has been successfully applied by steel companies in Hubei, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai provinces over the past 10 years.
