One of the performance materials and specialty chemicals companies in the world, Solutia has expanded the production capacity for high-tech conductive film by acquiring additional capacity from Aimcore Technology.
Aimcore Technology is a Taiwan-based manufacturer of ITO glass and the acquisition was worth about $3.4 million. The purchase of additional capacity represents the company’s commitment for continuous expansion in the Asia-Pacific region to better support the rapidly growing electronics and energy markets.
The additional production capacity will considerably increase the manufacture of Flexvue film components. The expanded capacity will be based in Taiwan and is scheduled to commence operation by the last quarter of 2011. Flexvue film components from Solutia have high performance, portability and flexibility, which make them ideal for high-tech applications, including e-readers, smart windows, solar products and touch screens.
Solutia is working to meet the requirements of the high-tech film sector in the Asia-Pacific and worldwide. The investment will enable Solutia to offer world-class service to its clients in the region.
In the second quarter of 2011, Solutia has expanded its film manufacturing capability in Taiwan. The company acquired Novomatrix, a Singapore-based marketer and distributor of window films, in 2010.
