Latest studies have shown that manufacturing cost savings in Mexico exceeded the values in India and China. The low landed costs in Mexico are attractive when compared to other emerging countries. The region is an ideal location for manufacturing short- to medium-run products with a high amount of engineered content. The new Mexican collaboration helps Plastic Engineering to minimize production costs of consumers.

Recently, Plastic Engineering has also made an announcement that it has received the AS9100 quality certification. The certification is offered to establish and maintain precision production and quality control standards for the aviation industry. The company has also secured ISO 9001:2008 Quality Certification for precision plastic injection molding, state of the art fabrication, CNC machining of plastic and metal components and distribution of plastic sheet rod and tube material.

Plastic Engineering has expanded its machining capabilities by adding a new Doosan Puma 2100 SY machine, which will decrease operation cost and cycle times. In addition, the company has released a new site that showcases all varieties of Foreign Object Damage (FOD) products.
