CEMEX in Germany announced that it is to supply a wide range of concretes and specialty building materials for a major federal motorway project in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
It has been estimated that nearly 57,000 vehicles will pass through the new A 33 four-lane motorway every day by 2020. CEMEX in Germany is involved in several construction activities of the new motorway, including backfilling, bedding, bridge and safety wall construction and installation of catch basin.
The company supplies a variety of special self-leveling and flowing concretes for closing shafts and implant cable ducts and pipes in ditches. CEMEX harsh concrete will be used as bedding for the outer and center guardrails and will also be utilized as flagging over the roadway’s drains.
The A 33 German highway project includes construction of 23 bridges and 10 of them will need CEMEX’s ready-mix concrete in the range 300 to 5,000 m3 . The construction of safety walls along the critical stretches of the highway road requires the supply of 600 m3 of CEMEX special concrete with resistant hard rock gravel. Catch basin is the largest section in the highway and CEMEX has delivered 2,300 m3 of concrete for this massive rainwater retention basin.
CEMEX uses its global knowledge and expertise to consistently design and offer specialty concrete products to meet the growing demand from clients and the construction industry.
