Vapor Technologies Develops True Black Coating Using LTAVD Process

Vapor Technologies, a provider of physical vapor deposition thin-film coating devices, has introduced the first-of-its-kind true black sophisticated low temperature arc vapor deposition (LTAVD) coating.

Vapor Technologies’ coating process produces stable, customizable and reproducible colorfast coatings that will not change or fade. The LTAVD process enables the sticking of the new black coating onto a broad array of materials such as electroplated plastics, without causing damage to the components.

The LTAVD black coating has obtained the most-precise quantitative rating as per the L*a*b* color lightness and hue standard in gauging ‘true’ black. Its capability of tolerating drastic temperature variations, superior adherence qualities and high-density practically eliminate peeling, cracking and delamination. The ultrathin coating maintains tolerances, dimensions and essential details to allow a broad array of textures.
