Afton Chemical, a manufacturer and developer of petroleum additives, has recently opened a research and development laboratory in Suzhou, China for enhancing its lubricant and fuel support to the customers in the Asia Pacific. This laboratory provides improved technology solutions such as physical and chemical analysis, performance testing and sample blending for the OEMs and customers in the Asia Pacific.
The latest fuel and lubricant additive laboratory is built at the company’s manufacturing plant, which is one among the four sites acquired by Afton in 2010 through the acquisition of Polartech Metalworking Additives, located in the Suzhou Industrial Park. Afton’s latest additive laboratory was constructed to replace the existing Shanghai research and development plant.
Rich Mendel, Afton Chemical’s Managing Director and Vice President, stated that the company’s Suzhou manufacturing plant is developed to accommodate its fuel and lubricant additive laboratories and is capable of providing its customers with the efficient technology solutions in that region. Mendel also added that the company strives to bring its recognition ‘Passion for Solutions’ to the Asia Pacific region and China, thereby helping its customers to find differences in their offerings to meet the requirements of the local industry. Mendel commented that the company’s combined manufacturing work and technical support will improve its ability of delivering fast and efficient additional services to its customers in China and local OEMs.
