Geolam, a supplier of Geolam line of high-quality wood-plastic composite (WPC) products in the North American Region, has expanded its supply network into the US.
The Geolam line comprises superior-quality Einwood WPC technology-based trim, siding and decking products. Einwood’s commercial building products have been used across the world in various climates, including adverse weather conditions.
The Geolam line of WPC building materials demonstrates superior performance properties such as higher tensile strength, higher compression strength, low water absorption to both fresh and salt water, and high slip resistance thanks to the patented Einwood production technology, which eliminates moisture completely from the wood-fiber. The 100% moisture removal allows the injected plastics to be embedded or integrated completely in the wood tracheids to produce a novel homogenous product. Geolam plans to introduce this production in the United States in the future.
The completely recyclable WPC product line does not release formaldehyde. It is devoid of chlorine and all types of solvents and is the only WPC to get the Eco-Mark certification. According to Christian Stephan, the company confirmed the market potential for its WPC building materials in the United States based on market analysis, independent third-party testing and research.
Besides conducting stringent performance tests in Japan, Geolam appointed Compositology to look after a secondary set of testing via major accredited agencies in the United States, including The AEWC Advanced Structures and Composites Center, Architectural Testing and NTA. The company also sponsored slip resistance and water absorption tests for its WPC building materials.
