Jackpot Employs Recycled Plastic in its Clothing Collections

Jackpot, a Danish Fashion Brand, has adopted an eco-friendly method by including recycled polyester in its clothing collections. The company’s fashion apparel also includes organic linen, cotton, Tencel and alpaca wool. At present, material recycling is the latest sustainable clothing production technique in the market. Hence, it was an obvious step for the company’s designers to use recycled polyester in their fabrics.

As part of the 2012 spring collection, the company will introduce a stylish grey dress that will feature three special parrots. The polyester obtained from 9 ½ plastic bottles has been used to make this dress.

The dress has a delicately formed waist, cropped sleeves and an attractive print in dusty purple. It is affordably-priced and offers a perfect look with ethical environmental concerns.

Two types of polyester have been used in "Pure Love by Jackpot" and these include post-consumer recycled plastic bottles and pre-consumer recycled industrial polyester-production bi-products. Both types of polyester offer a better alternative to organic linen and cotton and also spare the environment.

The dress features the same print like the season's Donation T-shirt and reinforces the company’s practice of sustainable fashion. The Eriana Dress will be available in stores from February 2012.

Till date, the company has utilized 430 t of organic cotton in its fabric collections and has sold about 950,000 pieces of sustainable clothing.
