SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association has declared that the induction of ten pioneers into the Plastics Hall of Fame will be done at the opening ceremony of NPE2012.
These pioneers have crossed significant milestones in business and plastic technology. SPI has formed this NPE2012, which will occur from 1 to 5 April, 2012 at Florida’s Orange County Convention Center.
During the opening gala of the NPE2012, the induction ceremony will occur on the evening of Super Sunday, which is a day for networking opportunities, social events and panel discussions before the commencement of the NPE trade show. SPI will conduct the event at Orlando-based Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. This event will contain a reception, a keynote presentation, and a banquet.
The ten new pioneers to be inducted into the Plastics Hall of Fame are Thomas E. Brady, PhD, researcher on packaging and polymer technology; Lawrence J. Broutman, ScD, a researcher who formulated techniques for characterization and analysis of polymer material techniques; Jay L. Gardiner, a plastics causes volunteer; Jobst U. Gellert ,one of Canada’s prolific inventors; H. Gunther Hoyt, who played a key role in the plastics industry’s internationalization; Robert P. Kittredge, a philanthropist and entrepreneur serving the packaging market; H. Richard Landis, a pioneer in injection molding; Robert A. Malloy, PhD, the chair of a principal U.S. plastics engineering departments; Daniel W. McGuire, Jr, the father of resin distribution and Timothy W. Womer, a known authority on plasticizing screws.
