Crown Holdings, a provider of metal packaging products, has declared that a second two-piece beverage can line will be installed at the company’s present facility in Malaysia.
The new beverage can line may probably become functional during the Q1 of 2013. This line has a preliminary production potential of around 650 M two-piece 33cl beverage cans per annum. The company can also manufacture smaller diameter cans at this facility. The total production of the plant may increase to more than 1.2 B cans.
Jozef Salaerts, CROWN Asia-Pacific’s President stated that the presence of the company in Malaysia for more than 30 years supports both worldwide and local clients. He added that there is an increase in demand for the beverage cans in the country that may bring benefits to the consumers and brand owners. Further potential at the Bangi plant will ensure to the clients that the company is prepared to meet the requirement.
Crown is operating the Bangi facility, which is one of seven two-piece beverage can plants, in South East Asia. Currently, the company has a beverage can manufacturing plant in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia, and also three plants in Vietnam, in which one is located in Hanoi and other two plants in Ho Chi Minh City.
