A plastic extrusion specialist, HPE Extrusion Solutions, is manufacturing custom plastic extrusions and tubing from a wide variety of polycarbonate grades.
The extruded plastic profile products are suitable for institutional, commercial and industrial applications.
Polycarbonate is an ideal material for producing plastic profiles as well as for tubing applications as it possesses several unique features, including dimensional stability, heat resistance, electrical insulation, impact resistance, toughness and stiffness. The material is normally available in clear form and it can be colored to create an attractive shiny finish. Other properties like transparency, rigidity, impact resistance and moisture resistance make the polycarbonate material suitable for electronic applications. The applications of extruded polycarbonate include outdoor lighting equipment, sporting goods, cable raceways, marine goods, equipment housings, frames, fairings, housings, automotive parts and electrical components.
HPE selects the polycarbonate grade for an application depending on the conditions to which the products or parts are exposed. Extrusion machines used by HPE include single screw units ranging from 3/4" to 2 1/2", which allows production of extrusion profiles in various shapes and sizes. The profile size varies between 1/16" and 3" with an unlimited length.
In addition to extruding polycarbonate, the company also processes various other advanced thermoplastics resins. Some of them are elastomers like glass-filled ABS, nylon, Santoprene and acetal; engineering resins such as ABS/PVC alloys; and rigid and flexible polypropylene, LDPE, HDPE and PVC.
