International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) has recognized PolyOne, a supplier of specialized polymer materials, solutions and services, with the 2012 Best Process Excellence Program award for the company’s Lean Six Sigma program. This program was introduced in 2008 and has been providing significant operational and financial advancements.
IQPC chose PolyOne as the winner, after thorough judging conducted by an industrial expert panel. It assessed the other competing companies, based on their exhibition of outstanding performance in portfolio management and direction setting, change in environment, application of technology.
According to Rod Hill, JEA’s master black belt and a judge for IQPC, PolyOne was an excellent example in converting the requirements of the customer to the process development in business. JEA is Florida-based electric utility company.
Previously, PolyOne was honored with Best Start-Up - Business Process Excellence Program award from IQPC during 2010.
Tom Kedrowski, PolyOne’s Senior VP for supply chain and operations commented that the company is delighted for being honored for its efficient business processes. PolyOne receives this recognition, because of the customers, valued distributors and other associates. They constantly search for and offer new solutions for continual improvement, according to him.
PolyOne’s CEO and President, Stephen D. Newlin stated that the company is anticipating further acceleration of the programs and production advancement all over the supply chain, and offering increasing value to the shareholders and clients.
