TDK, Japan-based electronics company, has announced the launch of a new line of multilayer ceramic capacitors. These capacitors have met environmental, electrical and mechanical standards from various industrial requirements, which include automotive grades, and also offer a longer service life.
Many applications requiring field life like smart grid, charging stations, smart meter and charging stations may use the new series of CGJ capacitors. This CGJ can be used in highly reliable applications of the automotive, industrial and medical markets. The company has commenced the production of the new capacitor series in bulk.
The company has announced the availability of the CGJ series of capacitors in X7R and C0G temperature characteristics. These capacitors are marketed in standard JIS/EIA case sizes of C3216/1206, C2012/0805, C1608/0603 and C1005/0402. The company’s knowledge in dielectric materials together with broad testing developed this series of extended life capacitors. The capacitor can survive for 2000 hr at a rated voltage of 2x.
There is a continuous growth in the smart energy application market. Hence, it is important that products survive in several challenging situations and also require elements, satisfying those specifications even beyond automotive and commercial standards. The new capacitors from TDK significantly contribute to the energy efficient technology developments, as they can provide extended life performance to the product.
The elements in the new multilayer ceramic capacitor are specifically designed to accumulate electrical energy, by means of stacking the alternate layers of electrodes and dielectric material.
