Fusetex, a provider of new hot melt adhesive solutions, has announced that the company has developed an exclusive hot melt adhesive powder, which is sold under the brand name Curabond.
The melting temperature of the base polymer is approximately between 100 and 110°C. When the base polymer is heated additionally, there is a raise in melt viscosity to a specific stage. The polymer can survive at higher temperatures of up to 250°C. Under normal storage circumstances, the shelf life of the powder is more than one year and is available in different particle sizes.
The polymer chain has a large number of polar chemical groups, which enable excellent adhesion to an extensive range of substrates like aluminium and glass fibre. This can provide special adhesion to carbon fibre and Kevlar and also offers complex finishes for example silicone and Teflon. The company’s new generation hot melt adhesive powder can be used in applications, which include deep draw moulding like door panels, headliners, and parcel shelves for use in carpet tiles and automotive trim and the composite market that is quickly expanding.
