Heraeus, a company that manufactures silver metallization pastes for use in the photovoltaic industry, has announced that the company will be exhibiting its new SOL315 paste at the SNEC 6th International Solar Industry and Photovoltaic Exhibition & Conference.
This conference will be held in China, from May 16 to 18, 2012. SOL315 silver paste can be used in new passivation layer cell designs, which help to enhance the efficiency of a cell.
According to Heraeus Precious Metals North America Conshohocken’s Vice President, Andy London, the company is expecting to launch one of its newest products, SOL315 paste, at this SNEC Conference. This new silver paste mainly helps to enhance efficiency and output by minimizing the recombination of charge carriers, Andy stated.
The SOL315 paste can be screen printed and fired over passivated silicon wafers and will not penetrate the passivation layer. This new paste contains less amount of silver and has shown more than 15% less use of paste per cell for use in new passivation layer cell designs, when compared to traditional metallization pastes. Excellent soldering compatibility and high mechanical adhesion are the added advantages of this new paste. SOL315 paste can be utilized for back-side soldering pad and front-side floating busbar applications.
