Chrysler Group has announced that it has given the Metallic “Supplier of the Year” to AK Steel.
AK Steel has been honored for its exceptional performance in 2011. This award positions the company among the top suppliers of the Chrysler group.
According to AK Steel’s Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and President, James L. Wainscott, the company feels honored on receiving this prestigious award from Chrysler. AK Steel values its partnership with Chrysler, and is glad that it has been able to meet the company’s increasing demands, Wainscott stated.
AK Steel showed a sense of urgency for solving issues, fulfilling goals and assisting the company’s objectives for growth.
According to Head of Metallic Purchasing and Chrysler Group, John Torvinen, AK Steel has delivered products with high-quality and offers commercial assistance. The company specializes in diversity sourcing and has embraced corporate sustainability, Torvinen stated.
Chrysler gives the prestigious award based on the performance of the suppliers across several important metrics such as cost, delivery, service and quality.
AK Steel manufactures electrical and stainless steel and flat-rolled carbon steel for use mainly in automotive, construction, manufacturing and infrastructure, electrical power generation and distribution markets. The corporate headquarters is located in West Chester, Ohio. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, AK Tube manufactures carbon and stainless electric resistance welded (ERW) tubular steel products for use in automotive, truck and other markets.
