Vishay Intertechnology, a manufacturer of passive electronic components and discrete semiconductors, has announced that it has unveiled new surface-mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC) series.
The capacitor provides high self-resonance, and has 0.05% of low dissipation factor. It has a high Q factor of 2000 and can be operated in high-frequency commercial applications.
The VJ HIFREQ device series, with low dissipation factor, is specifically designed for DC blocking circuits, amplifier, and matching and filter networks. Through MLCCs, energy consumption and signal loss can be minimized in cellular base stations, power amplifier modules, GPS systems, VoIP networks, WiMAX (802.16) and WiFi (802.11) wireless communication, and satellite,.
The VJ HIFREQ series is available in 0402, 0603, and 0805 case sizes and meets size requirements of designers for use in specific applications. The working voltage and broad capacitance of the device range from 25 V DC to 250 V DC, and from 1 pF to 1.5 nF, respectively. The tight tolerance of the devices is 0.1 pF. This device can be operated at a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.
The company manufactured these capacitors using noble metal electrode technology (NME) combined with a wet build method. MLCCs are offered in a variety of RoHS-compliant termination finishes in order to fulfill the application requirements. The product is available with a lead-bearing termination finish.
The VJ HIFREQ MLCCs will be provided as samples and production quantities during the second quarter of this year.
