XFIT LYCRA® fabric, the amazing denim technology that gives wearers 360 degree comfort and fit, will be the secret ingredient behind DL1961’s Autumn/Winter 2013 runway show to be held at Lincoln Center on Monday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. ET (attendance by invitation only).
The technology, which was developed by INVISTA, allows fabrics to stretch, and more importantly, recover in all directions, providing the wearer with a jean that both fits and feels great throughout the day. Many of the DL1961 styles are made with XFIT LYCRA® fabrics.
“XFIT LYCRA® fabric was the technology of choice for DL1961 right from the beginning,” says Sarah Ahmed, creative director for DL1961. “When we launched the DL1961 brand in 2008, our mission was to create ‘the perfect fitting jean.’ We selected XFIT LYCRA® fabrics because they not only mold to the body, but also have 90 percent shape retention, so our jeans don’t bag, sag or lose their shape.”
“DL1961 has done an excellent job of providing the consumer with fashionable jeans that hold their shape all day, every day,” agrees Jean Hegedus, denim segment director for INVISTA. “Their extensive use of the XFIT LYCRA® fabric technology has helped DL1961 achieve a unique position in the denim market and in the mind of the consumer.”
DL1961’s Autumn/Winter ’13 collection features technologically advanced fabrics and leather elements in various interpretations. The exceptional freedom of movement afforded by these sleek and stylish jeans will be illuminated in a unique and modern introduction to the show, perfectly keeping with the contemporary setting of Alice Tully Hall where the show will take place. While details are under-wraps, the show is expected to be unlike any other, and it is sure to leave a lasting impression.
