Optical Surfaces Selected by Leading Spectrophotometer Manufacture for Beamsplitter Optics/Compensator Supply

A leading spectrophotometer manufacturer has chosen Optical Surfaces for the supply of ultra-high precision matched compensator or beamsplitter optics for the interferometer in its high-resolution FT-IR system.

In order to attain superior performance, Optical Surfaces is manufacturing the 100mm diameter OA grade fused silica beamsplitter and compensator optics with a surface accuracy of lambda / 20 (p-v) and wavefront error in transmission of lambda / 20 (p-v) at 633nm. Also each compensator/beam splitter pair is matched tightly in wedge angle and thickness.

Sales and Marketing Manager at Optical Surfaces, Dr Aris Kouris stated that high resolution spectroscopy is highly demanding in terms of achieving leading-edge specifications with interferometer optics. He added that being chosen by a leading spectrophotometer manufacturer indicates the company’s proven expertise in consistently producing ultra high precision optics for a large number of spectrometer and interferometer manufacturers.

Optical Surfaces is a producer of optical components and systems for over 50 years and is accepted as one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-precision optical systems for spectroscopic and interferometric applications. The company has ISO 9001-2008 approved manufacturing workshops and test facilities, which are deep underground in a series of tunnels excavated in solid chalk where temperature remains constant and vibration is practically non-existent.
