Piper Plastics, a leading provider of high performance polymer materials and precision machined plastic components and assemblies, is pleased to announce that Laird Plastics has been selected as the distributor for its KyronMAX™ S-6230 machinable carbon composite polyetherimide (PEI) plate in North America.
“We are partnering with Laird Plastics to reach new customers for our KyronMAX carbon composite PEI plate, which is the strongest, stiffest, stock shape available for machining today,” said Bruce White, Corporate Vice President, Piper Plastics. “Having Laird as a distributor will help ensure that customers receive cost-effective and efficient access to our product and technical expertise. Laird has an excellent reputation as one of the largest and best distributors in North America. The nine Laird locations that will carry the initial inventory of the plate have a solid technical background and good experience selling high performance polymer shapes for machining.” The initial sizes of the plate will be 3/8” x 6” x 12”, 1/2” x 6” x 12”, and 1/4” x 6” x 12”.
“We appreciate Piper Plastics’ confidence in selecting us as their distribution partner for KyronMAX PEI plate,” said Roger Plizga, Regional Executive, Laird Plastics. “It will strengthen our already extensive line of sheet, rod, tube, and film and provide our customers with a new set of material choices.”
Piper Plastics maintains an engineering expertise and will continue to focus on providing technical solutions through technical support to Laird Plastics and by offering mold design and finished injection molded KyronMAX parts.
KyronMAX S-6230 is part of the KyronMAX S Series. Replacing metal in high strength structural components with exceptional toughness, the plate’s lighter weight, super strength, and corrosion resistance make it ideal for brackets, wear plates, small support frames, and gears.
