DuPont and Wuxi Xingda to Set Up Nylon Filament Joint Venture

DuPont Engineering Polymers and Wuxi Xingda Nylon Co., China’s largest manufacturer of toothbrush filaments, announced that they intend to form a joint venture.

After approvals are gained, the joint venture will operate three entities, DuPont Xingda Filaments Co. Ltd, DuPont Filaments Europe BV and DuPont Filaments Americas LLC., with manufacturing operations in America, China and the Netherlands. DuPont will be a 70% shareholder in each of the entities, with Wuxi Xingda owning the remaining 30%.

The joint venture will manufacture and distribute filaments for toothbrushes, paint brushes and other cosmetic and industrial brush applications. They intend to start up in the fourth quarter of 2003.
