Thirteenth International Conference on Narrow Gap Semiconductors

The Thirteenth International Conference on Narrow Gap Semiconductors will be held at the Advanced Technology Institute at the University of Surrey on July 8-12.

The aim of the conference series is to bring together experts and young scientists to discuss the latest findings and developments in the fundamental physics of narrow gap semiconductors and quantum heterostructures, together with device physics, including mid and far-infrared lasers and detectors and spintronic devices. There will be significant contributions in areas of semiconductor theory and modelling, laser device physics, carbon nanotubes and graphene, materials growth. The plenary speakers are Andre Geim from Manchester, who will talk about physics and devices made from single graphene sheets, and Tim Ashley of QinetiQ and a Visiting Professor at the ATI, who will talk about the record-breaking transistors produced by them for Intel.
