KSV 2000 Modular Langmuir Systems Available from Scientific Solutions

Scientific Solutions has an exclusive distribution agreement with KSV Instruments, Finland, who manufacture a wide range of Surface Science products, including Langmuir Blodgett Troughs and Apparatus.

The formation of insoluble monolayers at controlled packing densities is of great interest in many areas of science and technology. For example, the determination of "surface pressure isotherms" is a common tool in studies of lipid physics and chemistry. The creation and transfer of well-ordered functional molecules to solid surfaces finds use in a myriad of nanotechnology applications

KSV 2000 System is a modular Langmuir trough system which expands from a conventional film balance to a high performance Langmuir-Blodgett instrument for large substrates, or to a fully equipped alternating multilayer Langmuir-Blodgett system. The main difference compared to the KSV 5000 Series devices is the static position of the holders for the surface balance and dipper.

The heart of the KSV 2000 is the Interface unit with the barrier drive. The system set-up is built around the Interface unit by using the modules and accessories. The systemet-up is factory installed and ready to use.

The KSV 2000 Series is available in several basic modular configurations, however the modularity of the KSV 2000 allows the configuration to be upgraded at any time.
