Ion Mobility Spectrometry for the Pharmaceutical Industry at Pittcon 2013

This video provides an overview on Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) at Pittcon 2013. IMS is a gas phase technology that isolates molecules by virtue of their shape and size. In the pharmaceutical industry, the newly developed, high performance IMS (HPIMS) is used as a separation technology for various applications.

When compared to HPLC/UPLC, HPIMS offers several benefits such as rapid analysis and separation and detection of compounds that lack a chromophore. It can be used for different types of isomers.
