Quick Halide Soak Method from Rigaku

This video from Rigaku shows two summer interns demonstrates the quick soak method. This method is to add halide markers to protein crystals to facilitate SAD phasing. Two drops of 8µl of well solution is added to the KI placed in the microtube. This solution is mixed thoroughly till the saturation is obtained. Then the 2µl is mixed with the 8µl drop. This is mixed with other 8µl drop to get 4% saturated solution. Loop is used to extract the crystal from the drop. Then plunge it into the liquid nitrogen solution. The crystal is ready to mount.
