The new MiniPal 4 Sulfur is the latest in PANalytical’s successful line of compact, benchtop energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometers. The easy-to-use MiniPal 4 Sulfur is designed for the accurate and precise analysis of petrochemicals. The instrument performs non-destructive analysis of elements from sodium to lead, in concentrations from 100% down to ppm levels. Elemental analysis of petroleum products is crucial for quality control and to comply with a large number of environmental regulations. Importantly, MiniPal 4 Sulfur meets the requirements for sulfur analysis according to the international norms ASTM D4294-2007, ASTM D6841, ASTM D6445, ISO 20847 and ISO 8754. The spectrometer can also determine product compliance with other relevant standards, such as DIN and EPA.
The MiniPal 4 Sulfur provides a robust, reliable and cost-effective method of analysis. The instrument is one of the smallest full-function spectrometers available. It is equipped with a 12-position sample changer; three tube filters, a helium gas attachment for light element analysis and a 15 kV silver anode tube, the latter selected to give optimum performance for phosphorous, sulfur and chlorine analysis in petrochemicals.
The system also features a new silicon drift detector, which offers the best resolution available in its class. Improved sensitivity, high maximum count rates, excellent resolution and lower limits of detection characterize the new detector.
Proven, powerful MiniPal software enables even inexperienced users to carry out routine analysis. It includes Automatic Program Selection (APS), which automatically selects the best calibration program to use, depending on the sulfur concentration of the unknown sample.
