Chemtura to Boost Calcium Sulfonate Grease Production Capacity by 60%

Chemtura Corporation will increase calcium sulfonate grease capacity by 60% at its West Hill, Ontario, Canada plant, announced Dr. Sean O'Connor, vice president, Chemtura Petroleum Additives. This will include the addition of three new kettles. The higher volume is scheduled to go on line by Fall 2009.

Calcium sulfonate grease is a high performance lubricant. It has excellent corrosion resistance and is designed for high load and high temperature applications. It is used in heavy duty applications in the marine, steel, paper and food industry.

"We are focused on meeting our customers' petroleum additives needs and gearing up for substantially more growth," said Dr. O'Connor.

Chemtura is a leading global producer of polymer additives, including flame retardants, antioxidants, UV stabilizers, heat stabilizers, polymer modifiers and catalysts.
