MetaPress®, the world’s largest primary host of scientific, technical and medical content, is very pleased to announce a new partnership agreement with Woodhead Publishing Limited (Woodhead Publishing), a leading independent, international, scientific and technical publishing company based in the United Kingdom.
According to the agreement, MetaPress will develop and host a multitiered e-book platform for Woodhead Publishing to be completed before July 2009. The new platform, which will consist of a primary site and several subject-specific sites, is needed to accommodate the substantial growth that Woodhead Publishing has experienced surrounding e-book publications in the following subject areas:
- Food science, technology and nutrition
- Materials technology
- Welding and metallurgy
- Mechanical and civil engineering
- Textile technology
- Environmental technology
- Finance, commodities and investment.
Managing director of Woodhead Publishing, Martin Woodhead, said, “After extensive market research to establish the needs of our customers, we are delighted to partner with MetaPress in the development of our e-platform. The proposal that MetaPress provided matched our requirements precisely, and we are very much looking forward to launching the new platform in the summer of 2009.”
