Stelter and Brinck Upgrades Help Western Digital Improve Equipment Reliability

Western Digital (WD) began designing, manufacturing and marketing hard drives in 1988. Still today, WD is solely focused on producing and selling hard drives. With roughly 50,000 employees dedicated to the quality and innovation of one product, it is no surprise WD is a market leader in this highly sophisticated and ever changing market.

WD’s largest US plant, located in Fremont, California, produces wafer fabrications. WD’s Fremont plant employees recognize the importance of robust and reliable equipment. Thus, the facilities maintenance supervisor, John Sheely, uses Stelter & Brinck’s complete repertoire from field services to the design and manufacture of new equipment, and upgrades and rebuilds of existing equipment. Sheely explains, “S&B is always very responsive.” Additionally, when asked if Stelter & Brinck is easy to work with, Sheely replies, “Absolutely!”

Highly satisfied with the workmanship of S&B’s field technicians, Sheely states, “S&B’s service technicians are excellent; they are very knowledgeable. I know I can depend on Stelter & Brinck’s services to be of premium quality. I highly recommend them!”Following S&B’s service visits, Sheely receives a report, which he believes is “extremely useful.” In fact, he even gives

“S&B’s reports to the local pollution abatement committee as proof that [they] are within regulations.” Sheely says, “Our 24/7 manufacturing operation requires robust equipment. S&B has redesigned our equipment to meet those standards.” He goes onto say, “We are now able to keep our equipment up and running 24/7. Due to S&B’s upgrades, our equipment is very reliable.”
