Arkema to Take Part in 2nd International Carbon Composites Conference

Arkema will take part in the 2nd International Carbon Composites Conference from 27 to 29 October 2009 at the palais des Congrès in Arcachon, France.

Arkema will have its own stand displaying its carbon nanotube masterbatches for composites. These masterbatches are used to optimise the action of multiwall carbon nanotube added to composites with excellenrt results in terms of superior mechanical properties. Arkema will also present two conferences on the following topics:

  • From the neat Carbon Nanotube powder to Graphistrength® masterbatches,
  • Carbon Nanotube masterbatches for composites and coatings.

Composites have been a high-growth market in France and in the world for the past ten years or so. They combine polymers and fiber supports - generally glass or carbon fiber -, and provide unquestionable benefits to users thanks to their properties, in particular light weight and sturdiness.

Over 60 speakers - top scientists, designers and end-users - from around the world are expected to attend this 2nd edition of the Conference. This event will also be the opportunity for manufacturers and users of composites to share their experiences in various sectors of activity: aerospace, space and defence, transport and automotive, oil, windpower, construction and public works, boat construction, and sports equipment.
