POSCO and Nippon Steel Discuss on Intellectual Property at Annual Meeting

On July 23, POSCO and Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC) held their eighth joint meeting for intellectual property at POSCO Center. Since establishing a strategic partnership, the two steel companies have been operating the meetings from 2003, as an opportunity for them to discuss current issues of intellectual property rights and exchange information on common interests.

In the annual gathering, POSCO and NSC made various presentations on that issue and discussed ways to cooperate in the future, as well as sharing the latest information in the field. They talked about a patent-related management system such as nurturing talented workers and strategies on patent applications.

At this year's meeting, the two companies focused on the supporting system in intellectual property for their affiliates, countermeasures on patents from other companies and the current status and projected improvements of patent administration.
