Icynene has announced that it has qualified a new spray-applied thermal barrier, DC315, for use over ICYNENE LD-C-50®.
This provides designers and builders with new flexibility for including Icynene in ceiling plenums, exposed roof assemblies and accessible attics connected to habitable space. The testing was conducted at the Intertek Laboratory in San Antonio, TX.
As a one-coat, water-based latex paint with a coverage rate of ~80 sq. ft. / gallon, DC315 is one of the most economical thermal barrier coatings available. It meets the VOC emission requirements for use in classroom and office environments as defined in the CA DHS Standard Practice. Thus, the testing requirements are met to qualify the product as a low-emitting material in the “Collaborative for High Performance Schools” rating system. The product applies like regular latex paint using an airless sprayer, and being water-based, offers easy clean up.
Icynene is currently investing heavily in research & development initiatives as well as key strategic partnership alliances to deliver the most comprehensive line-up of spray foam insulation solutions and coatings in the industry today. Never before has Icynene been able to offer such a breadth of solutions for both the residential and commercial markets.
