Supplier of polyurethane and coatings solutions, SWD Urethane has proclaimed that its Quik-Shield 106 1/2 lb insulation formula has received approval from National Research Council - Canadian Construction Materials Centre (NRC-CCMC) for use and sale in the Canadian market. The product approval number from the NRC-CCMC is 13390-R.
The Quik-Shield 106 has been marketed in the US for years. It offers a 1” aged R-value at 4.01, it offers a smooth flowing formula with low smell and lesser gun clogs than the competitive 1/2 lb foams. Moreover, in Canadian VOC testing, the insulation product was considered harmless for the environment after only 12 h, which is only half of the value of the legal prerequisite for 24 hours.
In the US, the Quik-Shield 106 is code approved under ICC report #2003, making it suitable for uses such as commercial and residential buildings. The formula offers ultra noise insulation ratings and thus suitable for structures demanding reduction in sound transmission and noise penetration. At present, SWD Urethane supplies the Quik-Shield 106 directly.
