Cook Polymer Technology Opens New Manufacturing Plant in Canton, Illinois

Raw material manufacturer, Cook Polymer Technology has announced the establishment of a new plant in the city of Canton, Illinois. The investment expected for the project is $15 million.

The new facility has been named as Cook Polymer Technology – Canton. The company will break ground at the end of May 2011 and the production is expected to commence within two years. The construction will support the economic development and create job opportunities in Canton.

Cook Polymer Technology’s VP and General Manager, David Lessard said that the company is happy to expand its operations by constructing the new plant. The company has received tremendous support and help from Mayor Meade, state of Illinois and Canton’s economic development team.

The Canton plant will manufacture polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tubing that is extensively used by Cook Medical’s businesses. The facility will be built near Cook’s existing plant.
