In order to meet the growing demand for specialty copolymers, DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers has planned to expand its manufacturing site in Dordrecht, Netherlands.
The capacity increase will deliver the required specialty copolymers such as Fusabond modifier resins, Appeel lidding sealants and Bynel adhesive resins for application in construction, packaging and industrial markets.
DuPont’s capacity expansion extends its global manufacturing network in the Asia Pacific, North America and Europe. The specialty copolymers produced at Dordrecht manufacturing site will be available on July 2011.
The Fusabond modified reins help in connecting different polymers that are employed in filled, blended and toughed recycling compounds. The effective compatibilization feature of the Fusabond makes it ideal for post-consumer pack recycling projects.
The Bynel adhesive resins are co-extrudable and referred as tie layer. They allow packaging producers to combine heat-seal, barrier and many other functions in thermoformable sheets, bottles, tubes and films. The Appeel lidding sealants are solvent-free products and help assure sustainability by substituting lacquers that are based on solvents.
DuPont Ethylene Copolymers’ Global Business Director, Carolann Haznedar stated that the investment on capacity expansion will speed up the company’s ability to address the increasing global demand for specialty copolymers, mainly in Asia and Central Europe.
