LANXESS, a major specialty chemicals company, has conducted the 4th Colored Concrete Works Forum in June 23, 2011 at Grand Hyatt located in Seoul, South Korea.
During the forum, LANXESS’ Inorganic Pigment business unit, one of the major producers of iron oxide pigments, in collaboration with South Korean company, Wooshin Pigment, has presented the benefits of chrome oxide and iron oxide pigments. At the forum, the superior properties of Bayferrox pigment-based colored concrete were also demonstrated.
According to Dr. Wolfgang Oehlert, who serves as VP of the Inorganic Pigment business unit for Asia Pacific at LANXESS, choosing Seoul as the first Asian location for the Colored Concrete Works Forum explains the significance of the Asian markets, particularly the South Korean market. The company offers sustainable technical expertise and tailored solutions of colored concrete to South Korea’s modern and expanding architectural culture.
Bayferrox pigments offer a natural warm color to concrete material, which has become the latest trend in South Korea’s modern concrete architecture. LANXESS’ Bayferrox inorganic iron oxide pigments complement the trend by offering superior tinting strength, color consistency and weather resistance.
At the forum, LANXESS’ Head of the Global Competence Center Construction, Lutz Kohnert explained the technical uses of Bayferrox pigment and its ability to serve as an efficient solution for coloring concrete. He demonstrated the aesthetic appeal of colored concrete with global examples, including Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, New Astra Bridge in Stockholm in Sweden and Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
