Air Products, a supplier of process and specialty gases, atmospheric gases, performance materials, equipment and services, has planned to expand the gaseous nitrogen production capacity in Cheonan City, Korea.
The company will construct a new nitrogen facility at the Cheonan Industrial Complex. The expansion will help the company to better serve the growing demand of the electronics sector. It will address the increasing requirements of the existing customers and will also meet the new demand from the Chenon-ChaAm Industrial Complex that includes a new photovoltaic project. The plant is anticipated to commence operations in 2012.
Air Products has been serving the electronics industry in Cheonan and the additional capacity will support the expanding market. The company has been supplying nitrogen and other bulk gases to support the production of the telecommunication equipment, LCDs and semiconductor products in the region. The current investment is a part of the company’s growth strategy and helps its clients through a consistent supply of products in a rapid and cost-effective manner. Recently, the company has also made an announcement that it is expanding its nitrogen capacity in the Gumi National Industrial Complex.
In addition, Air Products has announced the expansions of the nitrogen capacity and pipelines in several parts of the world, including Austin, Texas and Chandler, Arizona, U.S.; Tai Chung, Taiwan; and Tangjeong and Hwaseong, Korea.
