Steel Technologies, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, has planned to build a new 100,000 sq-ft steel processing facility in Bajio, Central Mexico.
The construction will expand the company’s operations in Mexico and the flat-rolled steel facility is anticipated to commence operations by early 2013. The Bajio region has emerged as a great operational platform for the auto industry and investment keeps on flowing into this area. President and CEO of the company, Michael J. Carroll noted that the new facility will extend the company’s geographic reach within Mexico. In addition, the operation will complement Steel Technologies’ strong network of steel processing capabilities in the country.
