The Sterling Group, simply called as Sterling, is a private equity investment firm located at Houston. It declared that Sterling Group Partners III, L.P., its affiliated investment fund, has acquired the Liqui-Box Corporation ‘Liqui-Box’ from DuPont.
The acquisition is an $820M fund initiated in 2010, which is the firm’s third investment in its third fund. Liqui-Box is the fourth business Sterling has acquired from DuPont and the 21st corporate emergence in its history of 30 years.
Liqui-Box is based in Worthington, Ohio, and is a chief provider of bag-in-box flexible packaging to the global dairy, besides providing beverage and bulk food markets. Bag-in-box packaging is principally employed in foodservices for incorporating dairy mix for coffee drinks and milkshakes, infusible liquid foods like sauces and food concentrates, and fountain beverage syrup. Furthermore, it also supplies rigid plastic water bottles and pouches. The company's product-line comprises of filling machines and consumables like fitmented bags and pouch films.
