Vishay Intertechnology, a manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components, has launched the TANTAMOUNT surface-mount molded tantalum chip capacitors.
These capacitors belong to the new TL3 series and is the first device in the industry to provide low DC leakage current (DCL) of 0.005 CV, which has enabled the system designers for expanding the run-time of the battery in portable devices.
The TL3 devices are provided with different values of voltage and capacitance and are optimized for broad challenging applications, demanding long product life such as battery backup supplies, battery-operated devices, hand-held instruments, local power supplies, portable instrumentation, medical instruments and tire-pressure monitoring.
The TL3 series capacitors are available in a molded packaging in five standard EIA-535BAAC case codes like A, B, C, D, and E, along with low and standard ESR options. These devices provides a range of capacitance from 0.1 to 470 µF over voltage ratings from 4 to 63 VDC, and capacitance tolerances from ± 10 to ± 20 %. B, C, D, and E case codes are tested for 100 % surge current and provide enhanced reliability of 0.5% per 1,000 hours. The devices are free from halogen and are offered with RoHS-compliant tin terminations.
