BASF Coatings celebrated its now completed restructuring of the Polish Glasurit distribution with a big event for its customers. After taking over the previous importer Webolit, BASF Coatings will now market its premium brand Glasurit® directly to the Polish Glasurit dealers effective immediately. It will be business as usual for customers, just with a new partner, BASF Coatings: The restructuring won’t change the first-class service they receive. And they’ll even still be working with the same, knowledgeable, reliable employees.
On the occasion of the “ProFit with Glasurit” event, 140 Glasurit customers, partners and employees came together at the Krzeslice Palace near Poznan for a comprehensive program that was both informational and entertaining.
Andreas Riehemann, head of distribution, presented BASF Coatings as the new company in the Polish market and underscored the great potential of the automotive refinish market in Poland. Key Account Manager Wolfgang Bellers stressed the excellent relationship of the Glasurit brand to all renowned automobile manufacturers. The participants also listened intently to the talks on service topics such as Profit-Manager PRO (Frank Kuwarek) and RATIO-CONCEPT-plus (Richard Kamermans) and on the training program, which national head trainer Manuel Burmeier explained.
A hot attraction was the presentation by Product Management (Ina Bachert and Alina Corradini) on the water-based 90 Line and the VOC regulations that apply in Poland just like in the rest of Europe. The two experts clearly emphasized that the period for transitioning to products with low solvent content by 2007 as specified by regulations has put a lot of pressure on Poland, since the market share of water-based finishes is still very low.
The customer event was rounded out with an evening variety program including a barbecue, dancing and folklore, which was a great opportunity for participants to get to know each other and to solidify business contacts.
