HORN, a manufacturer and distributor of ingredients, raw materials and specialty chemicals, has established a new composite focused business unit called Composites & Fabrication Materials (CFM).
Fabricated components and reinforced plastics industries will be the target of the business unit. HORN has recently collaborated with PCCR USA in order to market its isophthalic, Orthophthalic & DCPD polyester resins, terephthalic, vinyl ester, and also its fire retardant polyester and vinyl ester resins. This partnership will lay a foundation for the new business unit.
PCCR USA, which was the previous composites resin and coatings business of Momentive and Hexion, has partnered with Polynt, a manufacturer of composites compounds and resins, anhydrides and plasticizers and their derivatives. Robert Wingfield, sales manager, and Parry Foskett, Vice President of HORN, will handle the distribution of PCCR’s composite resins and will provide services to customers residing in the Southwest and West area of America.
According to Parry Foskett, HORN has expanded its target market to add the products and chemistries utilized by fabricators of plastic and composite components and these aspects address the requirements in the FRP industry.
According to HORN and PCCR, the collaboration between them can act as a platform to promote growth for HORN as well as for its new and old business partners. HORN along with PCCR has a premiere line of composite resins to secure the CFM business unit, to harmonize the current product lines, and draw the attention of new principals focused on this division, Foskett stated.
