Cambrios to Employ ClearOhm Ink to Jointly Develop Film Products with Okura

Cambrios Technologies, a leading producer of nanotechnology solutions for the consumer electronics market, is collaborating with well known film processing solutions provider, Okura Industrial to develop a family of transparent conductive high-performance films by employing the ClearOhm coating material developed by Cambrios.

Samples of the transparent conductive films developed from ClearOhm coating materials will be supplied by Okura to a chosen set of touch sensor manufacturers associated with Cambrios. The film will feature exemplary optical characteristics and exceptional conductivity, all of which will make it suitable for the growing capacitive touch display market with applications in laptops, computers and tablets.

Touch sensors with large display dimensions measuring seven inches or more used in tablets and Ultrabooks need transparent conductive materials that provide excellent optical and electrical performance at affordable costs. The existing generations of such materials like indium tin oxide (ITO) do not comply with the rigorous requirements of the large area touch screen industry. The Cambrios ClearOhm material will however fulfill those stringent standards at reasonable costs. Okura has been providing optical films of exceptional quality to many leading companies. The company has profound experience in hard coat deposition and roll to roll coating techniques on a wide range of substrates that also includes PET.

Okura has capitalized on its association with ClearOhm Ink to produce the line of Okura ClearOhm products. The company is already providing Cambrios with ClearOhm films for use in smartphones. Okura is now one amongst the numerous proficient film manufacturers like Hitachi Chemical, Toray Advanced Films and DIC to partner with Cambrios.
